| Violet Eleanor Cope
The memorial service for Violet Cope will be at 7 p.m. today in Richard Street
Christian Church in Casper, Wyo. A dinner will follow the service at the church.
Mrs. Cope, 94, of Casper, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) at
Wyoming Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Street Christian Church Children's
Program, 2200 Richard St., Casper, WY 82601.
She was born Violet Grew on Sept. 7, 1904, in Independence, Kan.
On Feb. 17, 1921, in Okmulgee, Okla., she married James B. Cope, who died in 1985. They
lived in Medford for many years.
Mrs. Cope was a homemaker.
She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Fuhrer, Casper; four grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Edmond R. Lyon
The memorial service for Edmond R. Lyon will be at
10 a.m. Saturday in Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. The Rev. Earl Best of
Providence Chaplain Services will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Eagle Point
National Cemetery.
Mr. Lyon, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (March 28, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical
Center.

He was born June 28, 1920, in Chicago.
On Jan. 25, 1941, in Joliet, Ill., he married Jayne Kellenbach, who survives. He moved
to the Rogue Valley in 1958 from Lynwood, Calif.
Mr. Lyon was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service. At the time of his
retirement, he was the branch manager of the Central Point Post Office.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers in the Philippines and
New Guinea. He was a Purple Heart recipient.
Mr. Lyon was a member of the Medford BPOE and the Central Point and Medford Host Lions
Club.
He was an avid golfer.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Timothy, Seattle; a brother,
Theodore, Illinois; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail
Sue Mason, in 1995.

Mary Louise Fox
Mary Louise Fox, 73, of Cave Junction, died Thursday
(March 25, 1999) at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center. No service is
planned.
She was born Mary Louise O'Callahan on April 14, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
On Nov. 23, 1946, in Indianapolis, she married Francis P. Fox, who survives. She moved
to the Rogue Valley two years ago from La Pine.
Mrs. Fox worked as a disk inspector for Burroughs Corp. in California for 17 years,
retiring in 1985.
She enjoyed homemaking and taking care of her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Steven Jay, Redding, Calif.,
Donald H., Simi Valley, Calif., and Arron L., North Hollywood, Calif.; two brothers,
Robert O'Callahan, Kentucky, and Frank D. O'Callahan, Alamo, Texas; two sisters, Teresa
Sarazen, Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Eileen Reerdon, North Hollywood, Calif.; and four
grandchildren.

Michael F. Gorman
Michael Frederick Gorman, 48, of Medford, died
Friday (March 26, 1999) at his home. A private service will be held.
He was born July 18, 1950, in Washington, D.C. He moved to the Rogue Valley 2 years ago
from St. Petersburg, Fla.
Mr. Gorman was a fireman and a self-employed painter before moving to Medford.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things.
Survivors include his companion, Patricia Bouchard, Medford; four brothers, Raymond L.
Hall, Ronald A. Hall, Daniel Gorman, and Kenneth A. Gorman, all of Clinton, Md.; and a
sister, Virginia Denny, Clinton, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and
Virginia Gorman; and a brother, Timothy.

Alex A. Charbonneau
The funeral for Alex A. Charbonneau will be at 10
a.m. Thursday in Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. Pastor B.J. Knight of
First Church of the Nazarene in Eagle Point will officiate. Private interment will be in
Little Fall Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Charbonneau, 86, of Sams Valley, died Monday (March 29, 1999) at Providence Medford
Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Mission, S.D. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1991 from
Rio Linda, Calif.
Mr. Charbonneau was a civilian radar technician at McClellan Air Force Base. Following
his retirement from McClellan Air Force Base, he worked as a mechanic.
He was a member of the Eagle Point Nazarene Church, and also attended the Sams Valley
Community Church.
Mr. Charbonneau enjoyed writing music, singing and playing the guitar. He wrote and
published nine songs.
Survivors include a son, Marvin, Shady Cove; three daughters, Marilyn Gregory, Sams
Valley, Darlene LaClair, and Dorlea Packila, both of Battleground, Wash.; three sisters,
Bea Buettner, Hot Springs, S.D., Delia Petrik, Hastings, Neb., and Opal Lazzarine, Kent,
Wash.; a brother, Edward Paul, Redding, Calif.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by a son, A. Alan Charbonneau, in 1993; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Siskiyou Chapel.

Beatrice T. Perreault
The graveside service for Beatrice T. Perreault will
be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Father Jim Clifford of Shepherd of
the Valley Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National
Cemetery.
Mrs. Perreault, 78, of Central Point, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) at her home.
She was born Beatrice Gertchner on April 29, 1920, in Providence, R.I.
On Aug. 23, 1941, in Providence, she married Raymond J. Perreault, who died in 1992.
She moved to the Rogue Valley from Rhode Island in 1969.
Mrs. Perreault worked for Harry and David for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and being with her family.
Survivors include a son, Paul, Medford; a daughter, Joyce Perreault, Central Point; and
three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Tana K. Farnsworth
The memorial service for Tana K. Farnsworth will be
at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro. Pastor Jonathan
Dinger will officiate.
Mrs. Farnsworth, 49, of Aloha, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (March 25, 1999) in
Aloha.

School, 2100 N.E. Lincoln, Hillsboro, OR 97124, or to a favorite charity.
She was born Tana Finch on Oct. 30, 1949, in Vancouver, Wash. She moved to Medford
while still in high school, and graduated in Medford in 1967. She majored in education at
Oregon State University, and graduated in 1971.
On April 2, 1977, in Medford, she married John Farnsworth, who survives. The couple
lived in Coos Bay, Anchorage, Alaska, and Aloha.
Mrs. Farnsworth began working with the Hillsboro School District as a substitute at
Poynter. For the past two years she worked at Eastwood Elementary School in the Title One
Reading Program with first through third grade students.
She enjoyed gardening and camping.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Jeffrey Paul, Aloha; a daughter,
Megan Ann Farnsworth, Aloha; and two brothers, Lester Finch, San Diego, and Randy Finch,
Central Point.

Leslie M. McCartney
The funeral for Leslie M. McCartney will be at 11

Marguerite V. Payton
The graveside service for Marguerite Valentine
Payton will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Kellogg Cemetery, in Kellogg. The Rev. Eldon
Harbour of the Sutherlin Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Payton, 88, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) at an Eagle Point
foster home.

She was born Marguerite Gould on Feb. 14, 1911, in Loveland, Colo. She was raised in
Chico, Calif. and graduated from Chico High School.
In 1932, in Reno, Nev., she married Percy V. Payton.
Mrs. Payton lived in Kellogg from 1975 to 1977. Following the death of her husband in
1977, she moved to Redding, Calif., and later returned to Chico and Paradise, before
moving to Ashland in 1998.
Mrs. Payton was a licensed vocation nurse at the Feather River Sanitarium and Hospital
in Paradise, Calif. for 20 years.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert, Gold Beach, and Ed, Wasilla, Alaska; five
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
