suspended The search for a missing hiker on Mount Shasta was suspended Tuesday morning. Carl Landers, 69, of Orinda, Calif., has been missing since May 22, when he got separated from his hiking partners. According to the Siskiyou County sheriff's department, a limited search will continue, and people climbing the mountain will be asked about any clues they may have found. If a clue is found, the search will be immediately reactivated, police said. Landers' family and friends plan to keep checking parts of the mountain. Helicopters, dog teams and many searchers have been looking for Landers. A friend of Landers called Medford clairvoyant Nancy Allen, who told him where she felt Landers was. Susan Gravenkamp, spokeswoman for the sheriff's department, said searchers "did check out the information that was provided, but they didn't find anything, unfortunately." |
