| Everett Vance Stone
Everett Vance Stone, 34, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday (May 30, 1998) at his home
in Centralia, Wash. No service is planned.
He was born May 12, 1964, in Coquille, a son of Ray and Nancy Stone.
Mr. Stone grew up in Coquille and later attended Ashland schools.
In 1985, he moved from Ashland to Centralia, where he drove pilot cars for a trucking
company.
Mr. Stone enjoyed camping, fishing and outdoor sports.
Survivors include a sister, Julia Stone, Portland; and a grandmother, Sybyl Squire,
Ashland.
Helen M. Fitzsimmons
Helen Maunders Fitzsimmons, 80, of Medford, died
Thursday (May 28, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is
planned.
She was born Helen Maunders on March 29, 1918, in Virgil, S.D.
On June 16, 1948, in Redding, Calif., she married Douglas Fitzsimmons, who survives.
Mrs. Fitzsimmons lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 50 years.
A cook, for many years she ran the cafeteria at Southern Oregon Sales (SOS) packing
house in Medford. In her earlier years, she worked at Eaton's Dinner House and Bateman's
Restaurant in Medford and Mon Desir Dining Inn in Central Point.
She enjoyed writing poetry, rescuing animals, and tending her rose garden.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Douglas,
Yreka, Calif., and Dennis Wyatt, San Mateo, Calif.; a daughter, Pamela Fitzsimmons,
Redlands, Calif.; a sister, Grace Paul, Medford; a brother, Darrell Maunders, Butte,
Mont.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Harvey E. Hamilton
The memorial service for Harvey Edward Hamilton will
be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bear Lake Mobile Estates, 300 Luman Road, Phoenix. The Rev. John
Braund of Phoenix First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Mr. Hamilton, 83, of Phoenix, died Thursday (June 4, 1998) at his home.

He was born Nov. 11, 1914, in San Jose.
On Oct. 29, 1938, in San Jose, he married Hope Hickman, who survives. They moved to the
Rogue Valley in 1981 from San Jose.
Mr. Hamilton was a traffic manager for 25 years with CertainTeed Corp. in Santa Clara,
Calif., retiring in 1978.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in San Jose, Delta Nu Alpha transportation
fraternity in Santa Clara, and a charter member of the Rogue Monarch Lions Club in
Medford. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, antiques, and collectibles.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Carol Cecilian, Medford, and
Lesley Maurice, Clayton, Calif.; a son, Preston, Westlake Village, Calif.; seven
grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph.

Patsy Biggs Rumble
Patsy Biggs Rumble, 56, of Medford, formerly of Cave
Junction, died Wednesday (May 20, 1998) at the Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare
Center. No service is planned.

She was born Patsy Biggs on Feb. 4, 1942, in Fountain Hill, Ark., and moved to the
Rogue Valley 14 years later.
On Dec. 30, 1985, in Crescent City, Calif., she married Fritz F. Rumble, who preceded
her in death.
Mrs. Rumble was a secretary for California Gas Co.
Survivors include a daughter, Larae Withrow, Cave Junction; two brothers, Tommy Biggs,
Gold Beach, and Robert Biggs, in Alaska; and two grandchildren. A son, James Settle Jr.,
died in 1977.

Elizabeth Heckert
Elizabeth Heckert, 95, of Jacksonville, died
Thursday (June 4, 1998) at her home. Private interment will be in the Jacksonville
Cemetery.

She was born Elizabeth Meier on Sept. 22, 1902, in Brombach, Germany, and the family
came to the United States the following year. In 1911, they moved to Oregon from Quincy,
Ill.
In 1928, in Medford, she married Otto Heckert, who survives. They made their home in
Jacksonville for many years, and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 3, 1998.
Mrs. Heckert graduated from the University of Oregon and taught school in Lake Creek
and Beaver Creek.
She worked at the Jacksonville Museum and became interested in the Takelma Indians of
Southern Oregon. After her retirement, she wrote and published "The People and the
River," a book on the Takelma way of life.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Niedermeyer, Jacksonville; a son, Donald, Newport;
a brother Hanns Meier, Medford; two sisters, Helene Milligan, Jacksonville, and Mary
Holzgang, Portland; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Marie Anna Denninger
The memorial service for Marie Anna Denninger will
be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the Christian Church of Shady Cove. The Rev. Fred Harrison will
officiate.
Mrs. Denninger, 94, of Trail, died Wednesday (June 3, 1998) in an Eagle Point foster
care home.

She was born Marie Anna Hume on April 20, 1904, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
On June 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, she married Thomas Denninger, who died in 1961. They
moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Brooklyn.
Mrs. Denninger was a member of the Christian Church of Shady Cove. She enjoyed reading
and traveling.
Survivors include two nieces, Jacqueline Smith and Josephine Carrell, both Trail. Her
brother, Arthur Hume, died in March 1983.
