Jilda `Jill' S. Crandall

The memorial service for Jilda "Jill" Susan Crandall will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.

Ms. Crandall, 42, formerly of Medford, died Nov. 29, 1998 in Eureka, Calif., where she was living.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Association of Oregon, 3330 N.W. Yeon, Portland, OR 97210.

She was born June 6, 1956 in Medford, a daughter of William Edwin Crandall and Alta (Jennings) Crandall.

Survivors include a son, Ely Aaron Davis, Eureka, Calif.; two daughters, Dawn Roland, Eureka, and Autumn Roland, Florida; two brothers, Douglas and Roger Crandall, both of Central Point; and a sister, Sandra Lee Crandall, Portland.

Arrangements: Pierce Mortuary Chapels/Pierce Chapel, Eureka.

 

Charles H. Sibley

Charles H. Sibley, 67, formerly of Medford, died on Nov. 28, 1998 in Anchorage, Alaska, where he was living. No service is planned.

He was born on April 11, 1931, in Bangor, Maine.

On Aug. 30, 1966, in Fresno, Calif., he married Virginia Doran, who survives.

Mr. Sibley was a police officer with the motorcycle division of the Fresno Police Department for six years. After moving to the Rogue Valley in 1966, he served as chief of police with both the City of Central Point, and the City of Phoenix.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Air National Guard with the rank of senior master sergeant.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Lynda Nadeau, Dixmont, Maine, and Lisa Lisius, Farmington Falls, Maine; a stepson, Michael Doran, Medford; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Sibley, in 1987.

Elizabeth A. Ragsdale

Elizabeth A. Ragsdale, 81, of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 8, 1998) at a local foster care home. Arrangements will be announced by Abbey Funeral, Medford.

 

Morgan Hugh Chadwick

The memorial service for Morgan Hugh Chadwick will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Ash of West Main Church of Christ will officiate.

Mr. Chadwick, 84, of Phoenix, died Sunday (Dec. 6, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born on May 3, 1914, in LaGrande.

On June 21, 1940, in Edgewater, Colo., he married Dorothy P. Rahder, who survives.

Mr. Chadwick worked in the customer service department of the gas company in Long Beach, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 from Mira Loma, Calif.

Mr. Chadwick was a member of Moose Lodge No. 128 in Medford.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Barbara Hanlin, Medford; a brother, John, Phoenix; a sister, Margaret Lantzy, Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel, in 1961, and a brother, George.

Mildred Martha Ward

Mildred Martha Ward, 83, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 7, 1998) at her home. Arrangements will be announced by Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

 

Donald M. Stribling

The memorial service for Donald M. Stribling will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Talent Friends Church, 50 Talent Ave., Talent.

Mr. Stribling, 74, of Talent, died Monday (Dec. 7, 1998) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Talent Friends Church, Roofing Fund, 50 Talent Ave., Talent, OR 97540, or the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1924, in Eldon, Iowa.

On June 21, 1952, in Sacramento, Calif., he married Irene Edlund, who survives.

Mr. Stribling was employed by Pacific Bell and Northwest Bell Telephone Company. He retired after 35 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Stribling enjoyed fishing, camping, bird-watching and reading.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Richard, Steven, and Scott, all Medford, and Donald, Davenport, Iowa; two daughters, Kathi A. Kathol, Grants Pass, and Nancy S. Hill, Fair Oaks, Calif.; two brothers, Charles, Fresno, Calif., and Paul, Davenport, Iowa; a sister, Pauline W. Burrows, Eldon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and two granddaughters.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

 

Dolores `Dee' Sykes

The graveside service for Dolores "Dee" Sykes will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Alvin Brenhaug will officiate.

Mrs. Sykes, 62, of White City, died Monday (Dec. 7, 1998) at Hearthstone.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Dolores Caughie on Jan. 14, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

On March 6, 1961, in Idaho Falls, she married James J. Sykes, who died in 1995. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Idaho Falls in 1970.

Mrs. Sykes was a homemaker.

She enjoyed country music, camping, crafts, and writing to pen pals.

Survivors include six sons, Ron Townsend, White City, Roy Sykes, Talent, Jesse Sykes, Central Point, Bobby Chisem, Medford, Jimmy Chisem, White City, and Brent Sykes, Idaho Falls; four daughters, Sandra Burleigh and April Hamilton, both White City, Janet Sykes, Central Point, and Ruby McGee, Reno, Nev.; a brother, Floyd Caughie, Firth, Idaho; a sister, Elma Colby, Idaho Falls; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sue Sykes, a son, Bobby Shrives, three brothers, Dick, Pete and Delbert, three sisters, Idella Hunt, Violet Williams and Irene Shrives, and two grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Central Valley Chapel, Central Point.

 

Richard Mark Firman

Richard Mark Firman, 38, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Dec. 7, 1998) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Central Point Cremation & Funeral Care.

 

Ralph Prentice Hurst

Ralph Prentice Hurst, 60, of Klamath Falls, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (Dec. 5, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rogue Valley Christian Church, 1440 S. Oakdale, Medford. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
