"Share, save and spend smart, too!"
That's the motto of four thrifty puppets who will be sharing their financial advice with children Friday at a local credit union.
In honor of Financial Literacy Month, Rogue Federal Credit Union will host a live puppet show and screening of "The Money Mammals: Saving Money Is Fun" DVD at 4:30 p.m. April 13 at the credit union's South Gateway branch, 1370 Center Drive, Medford.
The show is designed to help children learn the value of money and what it means to spend money wisely.
Puppets Joe the Monkey and Piggs the Bank will sing songs with the audience and be available for pictures along with John Lanza, creator and co-producer of the DVD and producer of the TV show "Life With Louie."

Children can make their own piggy banks after the show.
Special segments in the DVD and live show address how parents can talk to their children about needs versus wants, allowances, setting realistic and affordable expectations, the value of sharing money and spending wisely.
Rogue Federal employee Neely Carlson said her 2-year-old daughter, Abigail, has learned the concept of what money is by keeping a piggy bank. Abigail already has $300 in the bank, thanks to gifts from family and friends, and Carlson hopes her daughter will spend it wisely after she meets the Money Mammals.
"Any activities that help her learn to save money is great," Carlson said. "If they start early, they will learn what to do with money."
The DVD has received multiple awards, including a Family Choice Award and the Film Advisory Board's Award of Excellence. This event is open to children ages 2 to 8 enrolled in the Rogue Federal Credit Union Kitty Club. The Kitty Club is a savings account program that allows children to deposit money without paying monthly service charges or start-up fees. Members are also eligible to enter coloring and deposit contests throughout the year. The show is free and seating is limited to 70 people. For more information, go online at www.themoneymammals.com.
