Man who threatened others sought

Police say people allegedly threatened by man are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest

Police are seeking the public's help finding a man who has allegedly threatened law enforcement and acquaintances, officials said.

Benjamin Gordon Evenson, 49, is wanted on several warrants charging him with forgery, theft and a probation violation from a possession of methamphetamine conviction.

In addition to the warrants, police allege Evenson has threatened several Medford residents, police and Oregon Department of Human Services workers.

The people he allegedly threatened in Medford have offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to Evenson's arrest. The police are not associated with the reward.

"We think he is in Jackson County somewhere," said Medford police Detective Sgt. Mike Budreau. "He has been known to associate with people in the White City and Eagle Point areas as well."

Evenson is described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.

He is known to drive a green four-door 1995 Cadillac Deville with Oregon license plates 099 BHB.

"We believe him to be armed and dangerous based on the statements he has made," Budreau said.

Anyone with information on Evenson's whereabouts is asked to call Medford police detectives at 774-2230.
