Raider women improveto 6-1 with tennis romp
LA MIRADA, Calif. — Southern Oregon received strong play from Katie Ross and Iuliia Efunia in the top two singles matches and cruised to a 10-0 victory over Biola University in women's tennis Thursday.
Ross swept past Ellen Menhgheier, 6-1, 6-1, while Efunia downed Christy Humphry, 6-1, 6-3.
Mallory Byers and Erin Bruni pulled out three-set victories and Sonia Aguilera split the first two sets and prevailed in a tiebreaker for the Raiders.
The Raiders (6-1) continue the second of a three-match Southern California road trip against Masters College today.

OIT's Fiegi, Hesia chosen to All-American second team
KLAMATH FALLS — Oregon Tech men's basketball teammates Ryan Fiegi and Levell Hesia were named to the All-America second team Tuesday during the NAIA Division II national tournament.
The 6-foot-7 Fiegi, a junior from South Medford, led OIT in scoring with 574 points. He averaged 17.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game and was 122-for-149 from the free-throw line for a team-best .819 percentage.
In two seasons with the Owls, Fiegi has tallied 1,177 points.
Hesia is the only player in OIT history to be named a three-time All-American. He was selected to the first team as a sophomore and the second team as a junior.
The 5-5 senior out of Mazama High in Klamath Falls became the all-time leading scorer this year and ended his career with 2,109 points, 588 assists and 241 3-point field goals.
Joshua Garrett of the Owls was honorable mention.
Oregon Tech was the regular season co-champion of the Cascade Conference and finished with an overall record of 28-4 (.875). The Owls made it to the Sweet 16 at nationals.
Alan Johnson, also from South Medford, was one of three other seniors on the team.
