Klamath Falls' Ed Reed defeated top-seeded John Sause of Medford in the semifinal round of the men's 3.0 singles on the second day of the Lithia Open Saturday at Southern Oregon Tennis Club.
Reed won 6-3, 6-4, while second-seeded John Buckley of Medford moved on in the same division with a victory over Rogue River's Gene Guretskiy.
Top-seeded Medford women Marcia La Fond, Megan Berdelman and Marielke Funke all picked up wins, and Mallory Byers upset Southern Oregon University teammate and second-seeded Erin Bruni in the 4.0 women's singles.
Medford top seeds Matthew Pronesti and Daniel Perone took care of business, winning in the men's 3.5 and 4.5 singles divisions, respectively.
