Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken signups set in Central Point
CENTRAL POINT — Signups for Central Point Babe Ruth and the Upper Rogue Cal Ripken League will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 7 and 12 at Scenic Middle School.
For Babe Ruth baseball, these are the last opportunities to sign up.
Little League is for boys and girls ages 4 to 18 who are interested in playing baseball or softball.

TALENT — Little League signups for Phoenix-Talent will be Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Talent Elementary School, 307 West Wagner Creek Road.
The cost is $55 for the first child, $35 for the second and $15 for the third. There is no fee for additional kids. A copy of the player's birth certificate is required.
League tryouts will be Feb. 10 and 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Talent Little League fields, 360 Rogue River Parkway.

Lithia Open tennis tourney scheduled for this weekend
More than 100 entrants will take to the court at the Lithia Open Tennis Championships this weekend at the Southern Oregon Tennis Club.
Action gets under way Friday at 4 p.m. and picks up at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Championship matches in the highest division for men and women will be played at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Ability levels will range from 3.0 to 5.0, tournament director Jack Thompson said.
Top men's seeds include Medford's Dan Perone and Southern Oregon Tennis Club teaching pro Andris Olins. The No. 1 women's seed is Katie Ross of Southern Oregon University.
The public is welcome to attend. The club is located at 2700 Hillcrest Rd., adjacent to Rogue Valley Country Club.
