  • The eighth annual Sacred Walk to the New Year continues until 6 p.m. Jan. 1 at the Valley Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. For more information, call 482-4132.
  • The Darex Family Ice Rink, across from Lithia Park in Ashland, is open for public skating seven days a week and offers ice skating and hockey lessons, group rates, stroller skating, adult recreational skating and more. Skate rental is $2, and admission onto the ice is $2.50 for kids and $3 for adults.   • "Volcanoes!" will be the focus of the 11 a.m. scheduled activity today at KIDS' Imagination Discovery Space at 226 N. Ross Lane, Medford. KIDS is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, and will be open for family fun every day of vacation except New Year's Day.   • Toy Science is at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum, 1500 E. Main St. Ashland, through Jan. 15. Discover the science behind classic and modern toys including radio-controlled cars, dominos, robots, trains, marionettes, pinball machines and magnetic toys. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is $7.50; $5 for kids 2-12 and seniors over 65. For more information, call 482-6767.
  • "Scroogical," a musical based on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" plays at 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday at Oregon Stage Works, 191 A. St., Ashland. SUNDAY

  • Medford Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a New Year's Eve party which will include prizes, carnival games and drawings for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Southern Oregon Gymnastics Academy, 3001 Samike Drive, Suite 112, Medford. Cost is $2 for kids, at the door. Adults get in free. For more information, call 774-2400.
  • Havurah Shir Hadash invites tots, teens, parents and grandparents to dance in the New Year at 8 p.m. Sunday, at 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. The event will feature live music by Jerry Attrick and the Pacemakers. Child care providers will be on hand. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family in advance or $13 per person or $30 per family at the door. Tickets are also available at the Havurah office. Call 488-7716.
