CORVALLIS — Oregon State University senior tight end Joe Newton has been invited to the Under Armour Senior Bowl Jan. 27 in Mobile, Ala.

The Roseburg received honorable mention in all-Pacific-10 Conference voting. He ranks 13th on OSU's career receptions list (99) and is sixth for receiving touchdowns (13).

Newton missed 2005 with a leg injury and will conclude his career as a three-year letterman and the record holder for touchdowns catches by a tight end. He also earned honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore and was named the ESPN player of the game at the Insight Bowl.

Oregon State (9-4) continues its longest season in school history Dec. 29 with its first appearance in Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, against Missouri.
