Prospect overcomes injury

PROSPECT — Jen King was forced into the lineup when senior middle Candi Lewis rolled an ankle early in Prospect's Mountain Valley League volleyball match against Paisley.

With Lewis forced to the sidelines, King took advantage of the opportunity and Prospect rolled to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-21 victory Friday.

King, a sophomore middle, contributed six kills and one block.

"(King) responded well," Prospect coach Marcy Gallagher said. "I was a little concerned. She's fairly tall and I needed her in there."

Senior middle Caiti Lewis also performed well with eight kills, 12-of-12 serving with three aces and three blocks.

"The other girls knew they had to step up and I was forced to use some of my younger girls," said Gallagher. "We had to change our rotation and we responded well."
