Marc Yaffee

The comedy lineup

Marc Yaffee, Arlo Stone and Bryan Cork deliver the laughs at Medford's comedy clubs this weekend

Stand-up comic and writer Marc Yaffee brings his edgy, original comedy to Ground Zero in Medford this weekend. Yaffee was born in East Los Angeles and adopted by a Mexican mother and a Jewish father. He later learned that his heritage included Mexican, Irish and Navajo. "I'm Mexi-jo," he jokes. His background has inspired much of the material that is included in his act.

Since Yaffee began performing in 1998, he has appeared on stages throughout the United States, in the Middle East and Asia.

His club appearances include Catch a Rising Star, The Ice House, The Laugh Factory and The Improv. He has performed at comedy festivals in Boston and in Las Vegas, and he has appeared on television shows such as "Loco Comedy Jam," "Latino Laugh Festival" and "Que Locos."

Yaffee also has written material for George Carlin's "Laugh.com."

Arlo Stone will get the laughs up and running Friday night at Chadwick's Pub and Sports Bar at the Regency Inn in Medford.

Stone uses sarcastic takes on headlines, politics and social issues in the news during his act. The California native turned Oregon resident delivers thought provoking comedy that consistently pulls the covers off the insanity of modern America.

Stone's appearances include performances at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, the 1997 ESPN Espy Awards in Hollywood, HBO's "New Year's Eve Marathon," "The Jenny McCarthy Show" and "Comedy Day" in San Francisco, to name a few. He makes regular submissions to Bill Maher's show, "Politically Incorrect," and "Dennis Miller Live."

Stone delivers hilarious material that covers everything from George W. Bush, war and terrorism, to racism and religion.

Bryan Cork and Morgan Preston return to Chadwick's Pub to deliver laughs Saturday night.

Cork has toured comedy clubs from Las Vegas to Buffalo and from Portland to Miami. His CD, "The Godforsaken Tour," is available at bryancork.com on the Web.

Cork is a former actor, and he spent 12 years appearing as the Amazing Spider-Man and other costumed characters.

Preston has worked as a headliner for the touring comedy show "The Kings of Vegas." He also has worked with Rich Hall of "Saturday Night Live" fame and with Weird Al Yankovich.

Preston mixes stand-up comedy with physical humor, props and audience interaction. Bring your cell phone.
