"Domestic Violence: Effective Responses," a conference featuring Mark Wynn, national domestic violence response trainer and retired police officer, is planned from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Red Lion Hotel, 200 N. Riverside Ave., Medford. The session will be repeated Aug. 23.

The conference, sponsored by the Jackson County Council Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, is open to criminal justice and law enforcement professionals, college students and faculty, community members, elected officials, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, medical personnel, physicians, social service workers and advocates.
