Middleford Commons is forum topic

The public is invited to attend either of two public forums to discuss the urban design components of the Middleford Commons redevelopment project, sponsored by the city of Medford and the Medford Urban Renewal Agency.

The forums are scheduled for 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. today in the Crater Room at the Red Lion Hotel in Medford. Each forum will last about an hour — with the evening session a repeat of the earlier session.

Through a $70,000 Technical Assistance Grant from the State of Oregon Department of Land, Conservation and Development (DLCD), the city and MURA have hired Crandall Arambula, a Portland architectural firm, to develop preliminary plans. At each forum, the architect will seek input on:

  • Design of the urban park block,
  • Design of Fourth Street,
  • Housing within Middleford Commons.

For more information contact Bill Hoke, Medford's deputy city manager, 774-2000 or Jackie Rodgers, acting executive director of the Medford Urban Renewal Agency, 774-2700.
