Company helps buyers control many home systems
Global Cachés home network adapters allow customers to control entertainment, security, lighting, irrigation and other systems from any personal
computer and the Internet.
Global Caché President Walt Keller says his companys main line of products range from $150 to $400. Suggested list prices for sensors run
as low as $70.
For the total package?
Traditionally, costs for smart home systems have been 8 to 10 percent of the overall value of the home.
"Its sort of like asking how much a car costs you can go all the way to a Ferrari," Keller says. "In million-dollar or more
houses, it could have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars."
But emerging technology has brought prices into the middle-class realm.
"If you are just focusing on the home entertainment system, it can be in the $5,000 to $10,000 range with additional touch panels costing
$2,000 to $3,000 per room."
Various products can work on pool, spa and sprinkler systems as well.
