Crater girls overwhelm Eureka

EUREKA, Calif — The 1-2 punch of Crater High senior strikers Sarah LaFontaine and Kasidy Reina is overwhelming opposing defenses this fall.

LaFontaine registered four goals and two assists and Reina generated two goals and two assists to power the Comets to a 7-3 victory over Eureka High on Saturday.

LaFontaine was so dominant that a frustrated Eureka player punched her in the mouth in the second half, Crater coach Terry Fretz said. The Eureka player got a red card and was ejected.

LaFontaine suffered a swollen, bloody lip and had to leave the match for medical attention. She returned a few minutes later.
