Pastor Jim Bolin of the Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church and Pastor Dan McCulloch of the Medford Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. Mr. Rumble, 67, of Harbor, formerly of Medford, died Friday (March 1, 2002) at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, P.O. Box 777, Brookings, OR 97415. He was born May 29, 1934, in Tacoma, Wash. On April 15, 2000, in Brookings, he married Dorothy Jean Long, who survives. Mr. Rumble was a logger and truck driver for many years. He lived in Mount Shasta, Calif., from 1951 to 1957; in the Rogue Valley from 1967 to 1987; and in Harbor, Ore., and Smith River, Calif., for the past 10 years. Mr. Rumble was a member, deacon and soundman at the Medford, Mount Shasta, Calif., and Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Churches. He was also a member of the Mount Shasta Lions Club. He enjoyed flying, fishing and motorcycles. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Cary, Medford, and Jamey, Crescent City, Calif.; a daughter, Reneé Barnwell, Santa Maria, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Lois Long, Brookings, and Doris Morgan, Billings, Mont.; a stepson, Harley Long, Medford; his mother, Ella F. Rumble, Medford; a sister, Wanda Florea, Grants Pass; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford. Basil Arthur Burton Basil Arthur Burton, 88, of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2002) at Hearthstone in Medford. No service is planned at this time. He was born March 5, 1913, in England, a son of Arthur and Florence Marie Hastie Burton. In 1967, in England, he married Ellen G. Hedges, who preceded him in death. Mr. Burton was a London bus driver for many years before moving to Southern California in 1967. In Los Angeles, he worked as a maintenance supervisor. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994. He enjoyed classical music and motorcycles. Survivors include two sons, Alan and Brian Burton, both in England; a stepdaughter, Ruth Amesbury, Eagle Point; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Robert Eugene Patrick The memorial service for Robert Eugene Patrick and his late companion, Mary Hoddersen, will be at 2 p.m. March 16, at the couple’s home, 918 Second Ave., Gold Hill. Mr. Patrick, 83, of Gold Hill, died Friday (March 1, 2002) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Dodge City, Kan., a son of Edward and Rinda Patrick. In December 1941, in Seattle, he married Josephine Kunkel, who lives in Seattle. He later met Mary Hoddersen, who was his 25-year companion. She died in January 2002. Mr. Patrick was a carpenter. He moved to Oregon in 1984 from Washington. He was a member of the Gold Hill Planning Commission for several years. Mr. Patrick enjoyed history and astronomy. Survivors include two sons, Timothy, Spokane, Wash., and Donald, Brookhaven, N.Y.; a brother, Gordon, Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was born April 21, 1931, in Spokane, Wash., a daughter of Stanley and Evelyn Hammerlund Baker. In 1952, in Portland, she married Jack LeFors, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Lincoln City in 2001. Mrs. LeFors enjoyed all kinds of crafts. Survivors include four sons, Mike, Shady Cove, Dave, Ashland, Dick, Aloha, and Monte, Hayward, Calif.; a brother, Neil Baker, Portland; a sister, Jean Reed, Fremont, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. On Nov. 16, 1951, in Cave Junction, he married M. Arlene Buckles, who survives. Mr. Rians worked for Copco. He worked for Pacific Power and Light for 40 years, retiring as superintendent of construction for Southern Oregon in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Rians was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club, the Men’s Bowling Association and was a charter member of Emanuel Methodist Church in Cave Junction. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling in his RV. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Jeffery, McMinnville, Patrick, Westland, and Gregory, Conroe, Texas; a daughter, Kathy, Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Delgado Jr. of Providence Medford Medical Center will officiate. Mr. Moses, 57, of Gold Hill, died Saturday (March 2, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical center. He was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Deadwood, S.D., a son of John J. and Opal Moses. He graduated from Ventura High School in Ventura, Calif.. In 1973, he graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Ventura, Calif., and had lived in Gold Hill for the past 20 years. On Nov. 12, 1981, in Gold Hill, he married Lee Ann Ackely McIntyre, who survives. Mr. Moses was a garden sales representative in Southern Oregon for 27 years. During the Vietnam War, he served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Moses enjoyed gardening, his job, his home and spending time with family and friends. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, John James "JJ," Gold Hill; two stepsons, Rick McIntyre, Gold Hill, and Ron McIntyre, San Francisco; his mother and stepfather Opal L. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1999 from Oakdale, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Teese was a member of the Oakdale Country Club in Oakdale, Calif. Mr. Ruell was a heavy equipment operator for the mining industry. He also worked for Medford Parks and Recreation. He was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church and was a past member of the Good Sam Club. Mr. Ruell enjoyed camping, fishing, flowers and playing horseshoes. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and as a Korean War Reservist. Mr. Seibert restored an Army Jeep and enjoyed football, cooking, music and automobiling. Survivors include a son, Daniel Seibert, Eagle Point; a daughter, Sonnja Lyden, Orange County, Calif.; two brothers, Kenneth, Hemet, Calif., and Roger, Atwater, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Ranger, 74, of Ashland, died Saturday (March 2, 2002) at the Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland. No service is planned. She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Dominguez, Calif., the daughter of Fred and Leona Hilton. She was raised in Dominguez and later moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she lived for 27 years. In 1953, in Long Beach, she married Charles Ranger, who survives. They moved to Ashland in 1984. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Brian, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Susan Ranger, Ashland; and three grandchildren. Ruth Evelyn Scott McPherson Ruth Evelyn Scott McPherson, 77, of Ashland, died Sunday (March 3, 2002) at Skylark Assisted Living Center in Ashland. A private service will be held. She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Memphis, a daughter of Noel E. and Bertha Barret. Prior to World War II, her family moved to Burbank, Calif., where she graduated from Burbank High School in 1941. During World War II, she was a lead accountant for McDonnell Douglas. In 1944, she married Dale Scott. They divorced in 1955. On Nov. 19, 1959, in Reno, Nev., she married Bert Arthur McPherson, who preceded her in death. They lived in various communities in Northern California, including Cloverdale, Rohnert Park, Citrus Heights and North Bend. The McPhersons owned and operated Coos Bay Salvage in Coos Bay. In 1982 and 1983, Mrs. McPherson attended Southwestern Oregon College in Coos Bay. She moved to Ashland in 1998. She was an accomplished potter, winning blue ribbons at several shows. She enjoyed playing bridge and making crafts. Survivors include two sons, Geoffrey, Ashland, Jonathan, Richmond, Calif.; a daughter, Patricia Long, Moss Beach, Calif.; two sisters, two brothers; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Manuela Morquecho Manuela Morquecho, 88, of Williams, died Friday (March 1, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A private service will be held. She was born March 24, 1913, in Madrid, Spain. She was crowned Miss Spain in 1932. In 1937, in Madrid, she married Roberto Colas, who died in 1972. They met at the Miss Spain pageant, where he was a judge. She was a homemaker. She moved to Williams in 1998 from Madrid to be near her daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Maria Carmen Grahn, Williams; two sisters, Maria Carmen Morquecho and Rosario Fernandez, both Madrid, Spain; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was born Dec. 14, 1922, in Redfield, S.D., a son of Claude and Charlotte Hufteling. He moved to Oregon as a youngster. On Oct. 31, 1947, in Grants Pass, he married D. Diane Scardaccione, who preceded him in death. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950 from Sutherlin. Mr. Hufteling was a log scaler for Elk Lumber Company and an electician with Boise Cascade in Medford, retiring in 1979. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, participating in the Invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Hufteling was a member of the American Legion and a past Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed Native American lore, mules and the outdoors. Survivors include a son, Michael Hufteling, Medford; two daughters, Donna Whitehead-Kincaid, and Beverly Box, both Phoenix; his twin brother, Richard, Medford; a sister, Dorothy Edwardson, Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
